ABSTRACT
Physical parameters uncertainty in subsurface contaminant transport is mani fested in the basic heterogeneity of the aquifer formation, the source term uncertainty, along with uncertainties related to the chemical, physical, and biological properties of the contaminant being transported. Such uncertainties greatly affect the predictive ability of deterministic groundwater flow and contaminant transport models and need careful consideration when making regulatory decisions based on such deterministic models.
