ABSTRACT
Electric machine mathematical models may be classified as lumped-parameter circuit models or distributed-field models. From the latter, the parameters for the lumpedparameter circuit model may be obtained. On the other hand, the field model may also be used for a direct simulation of steady-state and transient performance of the machine [1]. However, the lumped-parameter circuit model is more convenient to use in the study of electric drives.
