ABSTRACT

The remarkable increases in automation and acceleration of factory equipment in recent years have underscored the importance of increasing the operating rates of these machines. These problems arise because we use the equipment until it breaks down, without ever conducting daily spot checks. One way to introduce the concept of daily inspections into such a plant is to start with minor stoppages, implement minor improvements, and then go after the causes of their causes. Minor stoppages are minor breakdowns in machines and equipment, those caused by variations in workpieces or associated equipment. Operators are in a good position to detect the symptoms of abnormalities as soon as possible and either fix them or inform the person responsible for fixing them. In equipment inspection, nothing is more significant than human vision. The abnormality most often detected by ear is noise, and there are many factors involved. The phenomenon most often detected by touch is vibration.
