ABSTRACT

4-Aminodiphenyl is no longer manufactured commercially in the United States. Its only present use is for research purposes only. Prior uses of 4-aminodiphenyl in industry included: as a rubber antioxidant, and as a dye intermediate. In addition, 4-aminodiphenyl is a component of tobacco, which can be taken into the body by smoking. Mainstream cigarette smoke is reported to contain approximately 4.6 ng/cigarette of 4-aminodiphenyl. 8
