ABSTRACT
Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is an widely used industrial and research solvent due to its ability to possess both hydrophilic and lipophilic groups. Tetrahydrofuran is a solvent for high polymers, resins, lacquers and adhesives. 4 It is also used for histological and chromatographic procedures. 8 Tetrahydrofuran may be used, under the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act for fabrication of articles for packaging, transporting or storing food, but the residual amount cannot exceed 1.5%in the final product. 4
