ABSTRACT
The source of bis(chloromethyl) ether exposure is as an impurity of methyl chloromethyl ether (concentration of 0.5 to 8%). NIOSH also confirmed the spontaneous production of bis(chloromethyl) ether from the reaction of hydrogen chloride and formaldehyde in textile plants, however this source has been disputed. 3
