ABSTRACT

The uses of carbon disulfide are many due to its ability to solubilize fats, rubbers, phosphorus, sulfur and other elements. Its most important use in industry has been in the manufacturing of regenerated cellulose rayon. Other uses of carbon disulfide include: as a fruit protectant during shipment; grain fumigant; in the vulcanization process and manufacture of rubber and rubber accessories; and in the production of resins, xanthanates, thiocyanates, plywood adhesives, and flotation agents.
