ABSTRACT

Chlorinated hydrocarbon pesticides can be separated into three classes: dichloro-diphenylethanes, cyclodienes, and cyclohexanes. Chlordane is in the cyclodiene class. Chlordane is a mixture of many related chemicals, of which approximately ten are major components. These major components include cis- and trans-chlordane, b-chlordene, heptachlor and cis- and trans-nonachlor.
