ABSTRACT
Dieldrin was commercially manufactured by the epoxidation of aldrin. Its primary use in the past was for the control of corn pests. Other past uses included: general crop protection from insects; timber preservation; and termite-proofing of plywood and building boards, and plastic and rubber coatings of electrical and telecommunication cables. Any usage of dieldrin was terminated by 1987 in the United States.
