ABSTRACT

The uses of diethyl phthalate include: as a plasticizer for cellulose ester plastic films and sheets (photographic, blister packaging, and tape applications), and in molded and extruded articles (i.e. toys, toothbrushes). It is a component in a wide variety of cosmetic products including bath preparations, toilet water, perfumes, hair sprays, eye shadows, and nail polish and enamel removers. Other products in which diethyl phthalate is a component include insect sprays and mosquito repellants, coating for aspirin, adhesives, plasticizers, and in surface lubricants which are used in food and pharamaceutical packaging.
