ABSTRACT

The uses of acrylamide as a monomer include: as a grouting agent; a strengthener; in paper and cardboard manufacturing; photographic processing; and in paper, plastic, hair spray, textile, ceramic, and paint industries. Polyacrylamides are used as flocculants in waste disposal, mining operations, water supply purification; and as gels in laboratories. Polymerized acrylamides are non-toxic, while the monomers can be harmful.
