ABSTRACT
The uses of isopropyl alcohol include: in cosmetics, hair tonics, rubbing alcohol (70% isopropanol), pharmaceuticals, antifreeze; as a solvent in the manufacturing of surface coatings and thinners; manufacturing of skin lotions, permanent wave lotions, and hair color; as a disinfectant and sanitizer; in cleaning and degreasing operations; manufacturing of rubber products, adhesives, safety glasses; and as an additive in gasoline, lubricants, hydraulic brake fluids, and rocket fuels.
