ABSTRACT
The study of problem solving disorders in local brain lesions has allowed to describe different types of changes occurring in this complex form of intellectual activity, and has brought the authors closer to the psychological analysis of difficulties that may arise in the course of its performance. The research findings of modern neuropsychology convincingly prove that different cerebral areas, whose joint functioning enables complex mental activity, have strictly specialized functions. The nature of problem solving disorders caused by the frontal lesions is quite different. The neuropsychological method for analyzing the structure of intellectual activity is in its infancy, and therefore, it is only logical that in this work the authors could not touch upon numerous problems of general psychology and pedagogy. The study was limited to a relatively imperfect attempt to develop a set of problems differing in terms of their psychological difficulty.
