ABSTRACT

This chapter takes up moments of frequency distributions for descriptive purposes, and presents several more frequency distributions, both discrete and continuous. It discusses exponential distribution which is a continuous distribution of wide use in testing for length of life to failure, with the time to failure being a continuous variable. In fact in life testing, the exponential distribution is about as standard a model as the normal distribution is in other fields of application. The chapter also presents a standard test for comparing observed and calculated frequencies.
