ABSTRACT

In Section 10 we derived general expressions for matrix elements of certain interactions between states of a given two nucleon configuration. In many cases of nuclear spectra, as we shall see later in detail, the actual eigenstates are admixtures of states in several shell model configurations. In such cases, it is necessary to evaluate matrix elements between different configurations of two nucleons. The states we consider are in the jj-coupling scheme.
