ABSTRACT

In Section 2.8.3 in Chapter 2, eight properties of a response surface design were listed. Each of the separate properties plays a distinct role in the overall strategy of sequentially fitting polynomial models for the purpose of exploring a response surface over the experimental region. Two other design properties, orthogonality and rotatability, were likewise defined. We went on to show how these latter two properties are obtainable by concentrating on the values of the moments of the distribution of design points in the design region.
