ABSTRACT

This chapter outlines the necessary steps in the review and feedback process of an effective and successful pipeline corrosion management (PCM) programme. A typical process for the review and assessment of PCM and inspection data is shown. The main objective of review is to provide productive feedback on each element of the PCM programme so that necessary improvements can be made to enhance pipeline operation. If the PCM plan/programme was not carried out or if sufficient PCM data were not generated, then a review should be carried out as to why and where the PCM plan failed and what course of action is required to recover the plan and data arising therefrom. The data be considered corrupted or deficient to the extent that a PCM assessment cannot be performed. Then a traceable corrective action plan should be put in place to rectify either the process or equipment responsible for returning degraded or corrupted information.
