ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we turn to the methods for solving the radiative transfer equation. We do not aim at giving a full review of all existent approaches, but restrict ourselves to a brief description of the most popular methods with a focus on their correlation and statistical content, ranges of validity, and limitations. At the same time, we tend to make this exposition sufficiently full in order that the reader could use the outlined methods for solving practical problems.
