In order to be able to identify the warning signs within employees in the workplace, it is essential that the company implements specific policies and training programs for employees and all levels of management to ensure that the warning signs are identified appropriately. It is important that a professional designs a system to identify and address the warning signs early in the initial stage and does not allow the hostilities to escalate. Prudent professionals should exercise extreme caution when addressing the issues of warning signs with the specific individuals. Although the employer has a legal obligation to create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment, over exuberance in addressing the potential warning signs with an individual may also tread upon their individual legal rights. Potentially violent employees may have a history of violence. A fascination with workplace violence incidents and a verbal expression of approval for the use of violence to achieve a purpose.
