ABSTRACT

Diagnosis. Adults generally with 13 ilagellomeres; at least some flagellomeres annulated with cutlcular sculpture; hypopharyngeal filaments fused on midline much of their length, separate only in distal half (as in Fig. 17); labial palpus usually with minute basal segment, rounded distal segment, sometimes with single rounded segment. Tarsi of adult usually three-segmented. Wings present or not; when present, sometimes reduced. Forewing generally lacking sclerotized pterostlgma; Cu2 and IA usually ending separately on wing margin; IIA sometimes present. Subgenital plate large, often with t-shaped or triangular sclerite. Ovipositor generally with three valvulae on each side. Paraproct usually without a stout spine on free margin.
