ABSTRACT
The term interference covers various effects of dissolved or suspended substances upon analytical procedures. The known interferences and related information have been included in the specific methods of analysis. Many of the methods in this manual have been developed specifically to minimize common interferences. The purpose of this section is to offer guidelines for detecting the presence of interfering substances and overcoming their effects when encountered.
