ABSTRACT
Nitrogen dioxide is collected by bubbling air through a solution containing triethanolamine, o-methoxyphenol (guaiacol) and sodium metabisulfite (1,2). The nitrite ion produced during sampling is determined colorimetrically by reacting the exposed absorbing reagent with sulfanilamide and 8-anilino-l-naphthalenesulfonic acid (ANSA).
