ABSTRACT

Vibrating machinery has been used in one form or another for the last 100 years. The use of handheld screens for separating various sizes of materials predates recorded history. Vibratory conveyors advance material by repeatedly throwing it small distances. Vibratory conveyors are used to convey a variety of different bulk solids short to medium distances. This type of conveyor can be designed to handle virtually any granular material. They are also suitable for conveying materials with large lumps. Vibratory feeders are widely used in industry from applications ranging from processing pharmaceuticals to discharging coal from silos. The flow-promoting properties of vibrating motion, combined with the ability of removing an even distribution of material from across a bin or hopper opening, make vibratory feeders very popular. Natural Frequency System is the most common type of system used for vibratory conveyors and feeder. It is based on the resonance principle.
