Science and Spectra in the Nineteenth Century

Spectra are the idiom of atoms and molecules. As we express ourselves in words and phrases, molecules announce their presence by series of frequencies in the electromagnetic spectrum. The goal of spectroscopy is to compile the grammar by which such groups are understood.
