ABSTRACT
the origin of the head skeleton (skull) and other tissue constituting the face is complex. For that reason, the development of the skull and face are discussed here rather than in the chapter on the skeletomuscular system (Chapter 8). In the present chapter, the formation of cranial bones that make up the roof and base of the skull as well as the formation of facial bones will be discussed.
