ABSTRACT
The characteristics of all organisms are determined by genes. These are represented by specific sequences of the “nucleotide bases” on the polymer strands of DNA and RNA, that is: deoxyribonucleic acid and ribonucleic acid. The acid character of these polymers arises from the ionization of the OH groups located on the phosphodiester bridges of the structure.
