ABSTRACT
The future of lighting holds the development of more compact lamps and continued research into reduced wattage incandescents, optimization of fluorescent lamp colors, large-diameter acrylic fiber “light pipes”, and the induction type of discharge light. The continuing development of more compact sources in high-intensity discharge (HID), halogen-sourced incandescents, and fluorescents is leading to greatly improved optical systems.
