ABSTRACT
Control of dissipation parameters is a rather important and practical subject of inquiry for engineers. Examples can be found where a designer tries both to increase and to decrease dissipation parameters. The problems involved in searching the range of composites or composite structures for those which provide the desired dissipative behavior will be called the problems of rational design for energy dissipation.
