ABSTRACT
Little accurate information exists on the true costs of removal of graffiti and protection of surfaces. Authorities that employ their own labour to carry out the work, and those that use contractors on a regular basis, should be able to say how much they have spent, but when cost/effectiveness is taken into account, it is not easy to identify the most economic course of action.
