ABSTRACT
During our journey throughout the history, many past civilizations in the world were developed around water. In the Indian sub-continent, the Harappa and Mohenjodaro civilizations were evolved in the Indus River basin five thousand years ago. In the modern times, water has also been playing a pivotal role in the development and sustenance of livelihoods of people of India.
