ABSTRACT
Sediments from remediation dredging, by definition, contain harmful substances at levels that pose a threat to the survival of bottom-dwelling organisms and their consumers, and impair the quality of the surrounding water. Handling and placement of these sediments require special control measures that do not simply transfer the problems to another place.
