ABSTRACT
A particular difficulty experienced by many promoters of dredging projects is what to do with the dredged material. In the past, considerable volumes of dredged material have been placed in the sea at disposal sites, but environmental awareness and concern for the protection of the world’s oceans and seas have made placement of any matter at sea increasingly unacceptable.
