ABSTRACT
Microbial constituents of concern include pathogens, viruses, yeasts and parasites. Sediments should be tested for these constituents whenever dredging sites are close to sewage discharges, and placement sites are close to sensitive areas such as drinking water intakes, recreation beaches or shellfish beds.
