Tangential Calculus and Shape Derivatives

Abstract. The object of this paper is to illustrate the combined strength of the shape calculus and the intrinsic tangential differential calculus (recently used in the theory of thin and asymptotic shells) to compute shape derivatives. It also makes the connection with the generic Courant metric framework of A.M. Micheletti [7].
