Governing Equations and Boundary Conditions of Mass Transfer

In this chapter we will develop a general equation that describes concentration of a a mass species as a function of time and position in a material. Later, in Chapters 12 through 14, we will solve this general equation for specific situations. Relationship of this chapter to other chapters in mass transfer is shown in Figure 11.1.
