ABSTRACT
The process of separation of the sample mixture by migration of the mobile phase through the layer is known as development. This chapter describes the different modes and apparatus for development of thin layers. The advantages and disadvantages of the various development modes and instruments were recently reviewed (Cserhati and Forgacs, 1996b).
