ABSTRACT
Part III of this book is concerned with the construction and use of system image quality models. The goal of such models is to make predictions of the final image quality produced by an imaging system that is described in terms of component or subsystem properties. These models are valuable for purposes such as: (1) setting product specifications; (2) forecasting technological trends for strategic planning; (3) developing novel imaging systems; and (4) benchmarking products and technologies.
