ABSTRACT
The Protein Data Bank (PDB) (1) is the single international repository for the threedimensional structure data of biological macromolecules determined experimentally. Resources for depositing, extracting, and analyzing data from the PDB are available at no cost from PDB mirrors worldwide. This chapter describes the history and current state of the PDB, the systems that manage the data, and the future plans of the PDB.
