ABSTRACT

It will be noted, in Figure 2-53, that the uncut core saturated, and the inrush current was limited only by circuit resistance and power, MOSFETs RDS(on). Figure 2-54 shows that saturation did not occur in the case of the cut core. Thus, the high inrush current and transistor stress were virtually eliminated.
