ABSTRACT
A review of the information on carbonaceous resources in Central America reveals the presence of coal (lignite, sub-bituminous coal and bituminous coal) in all countries except Belize and peat mainly in Costa Rica, Panama and Belize. There are no reports of significant past or any recent commercial production in any of these countries.
