General In order to carry out a field survey certain necessary preparations have to be made to ascertain a successful progress of the survey, and the following is essential: – An evaluation has to be made of the data required for the project on

hand, the desired accuracy and the circumstances under which the survey has to be carried out in order to decide on type and number of instruments to be used.
