ABSTRACT
Because the concept of an e-factory is new and rapidly evolving, a methodology for creating a roadmap of how to design and select the best technology and processes for an e-factory can be an important tool. There are many factors to consider, many new requirements, and many alternative solutions to evaluate when planning for an e-factory. By having a methodology that provides for the rapid structuring of issues and that forces the evaluation of key factors, the quality of the decisions being made is improved. The purpose of this chapter is to describe a methodology for creating a roadmap for defining and implementing an e-factory.
