ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to describe the necessary considerations and steps that should be taken to have a successful execution of the e-factory roadmap. Ultimately, the level of success depends on how well the people in the organization and the processes in which they are employed are prepared for the changes and the new technology. The key steps in a successful e-factory implementation include:
1. Making the decision to implement 2. Preparing the business processes for the technology 3. Training or acquiring the people 4. Acquiring the technology 5. Implementing the technology 6. Testing 7. Continuous improvement
Each of these steps are discussed in the following chapter sections.
