4.1 Introduction

In the previous two chapters we have dealt with some preprocessing tasks of data mining. The present chapter is concerned with its classification/learning aspect. Here we present two active learning strategies [164, 167] for handling the large quadratic programming problem of designing support vector machine classifier.
