ABSTRACT

Encrypting and changing keys/ credentials for programs as well as users, along with encrypting in place, could make a cloud just as safe as information technology (IT) professionals' internal data center. One huge change to the cloud computing market is marked by the speed with which vendors are implementing software-defined networking as part of their cloud architecture. The key advantage over traditional virtual private networks is how IT professionals can link various sites together, even if they have potentially conflicting addressing and/ or routing schemes. So the paradigm change is that instead of concentrating on traditional VLAN trunking, the center of the network is typically visualized as a cloud. The fact that man-in-the-middle devices and network taps can be nearly undetectable under certain circumstances makes it increasingly important to ask the vendor what their clearance standards are for employees, guests, and contractors.
