ABSTRACT
This chapter explains about the threat landscape in the dark net. It shows how big markets have been set up majorly dealing in the sale of drugs. The dark net is facilitating new and dangerous types of criminal activities that are perpetrated by nameless and faceless people. One of the longest surviving individual vendors of drugs on dark net black markets is MushBud. MushBud has been present on the dark net for a long term and has passed through other black markets such as Silk Road 2, Sheep, Agora, and Abraxas. One of the most dangerous crimes being carried out on the dark net is the sale of weapons. These ranges from pistols to rifles and in some black markets, there are explosives. In June 2017, INTERPOL came to a finding that poachers had taken to the dark net to sell wildlife products such as rhino horns, ivory, and tiger skin among other products from endangered species.
