ABSTRACT

Diarrhea deteriorates the nutritional status of the children. Diarrhea is the main cause of mortality in children under five years of age. Chronic diarrhea is caused by gastrointestinal infection of bacteria like Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella and Para-Typhi. The source of infection in diarrhea is the feco-oral route. Food allergy is the immunological response of the body to particular foods that are consumed. The common manifestations of food allergy are itching on skin, redness and swelling in the mouth, vomiting, diarrhea, difficulty in breathing and a fall in blood pressure.
