ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a delay partial differential equation (DPDE) model having three equations in three unknowns for the subcutaneous injection of insulin. The model dependent variables are the monomeric, dimeric, and hexameric forms of insulin. The spatiotemporal distribution of these forms of insulin in the subcutaneous tissue is computed by the method of lines (MOL) numerical integration of the DPDEs. The chapter also discusses ordinary differential equation/MOL routine.
