ABSTRACT
ULC steels are primarily used in sheet products for deep-drawing applications that require a good formability. Prior to the introduction of the ULC steels, most of the hot rolled steel sheets for forming applications have been manufactured by using aluminum-killed steel and boron-bearing low carbon steel. Development of the ULC steels was triggered by the growing demands for further improvement of formability of the sheet products for deep-drawing applications.
