ABSTRACT
Contemporary hot and cold strip mills in combination with reheat and annealing furnaces can be considered as the metallurgical devices for obtaining the steel products with the desired mechanical properties. An excellent description of the hot strip mill as a metallurgical tool was provided by Hewitt and Jones [1] of British Steel. Below is a brief summary of their work.
